"For a Girl with a Reputation Like Hers": the Shenderovich Sex Tape

Viktor Shenderovich

For those who haven’t already heard, prominent opposition member and famed Kukly-creator Viktor Shenderovich has been the latest victim of the Black PR hidden cameras scandals. Yesterday, a video appeared on Russian video websites that featured Shenderovich, former anti-illegal-immigrant activist Alexander Belov-Potkin, and ‘Other Russia’ activist-author Eduard Limonov. The three men were pictured having sex with an unidentified woman. In the video, Potkin masturbates by himself and Shenderovich and Limonov masturbate together, with Shenderovich at one point seemingly humping the mattress and pillow of a bed. (The Huffington Post has a piece about it in English here.)

The full video is available here, though the website has been unreliable, probably due to increased traffic (or FSB DoS attacks, of course).

Potkin gave an interview to Svobodnaia Pressa here. Shenderovich preempted the video’s release by hours, posting a LiveJournal blog article at 3am yesterday morning. What follows is a full translation of that LJ post:

Some good people called me in the middle of the night to warn me that a foul little film was already on the Internet…

Well, who could have guessed…

I recognized the multipurpose girl Katya [mnogorazovogo ispol’zovaniia] back when Novaya Gazeta published her photographs. I understood that this movie couldn’t do without including me, and that my premiere wasn’t far off.

When I read Yashin’s article, I studied all the circumstances of this brilliant operation, and I was offended. Comrade Chekists! This is age discrimination! Young oppositionists can count on two free girls and a serving of cocaine, but we fifty-year-olds get only one girl – without even any toys? Have you no conscience? So what am I talking about:

Yes, so what have we got here, comrade chekists?

Or rather whom?

I fucked Katya — incidentally, without the slightest pleasure, because your colleague in this process was boring, like the rest of your sad Gestapo.

And these morons grabbed this irrelevant event to smile like fools, content with their own idiocy [ot polnoty svoego idiotizma].

Decent people have received yet another confirmation of that well known fact that our opponents in the Kremlin are common lowlifes, though they have some impressive camera technology.

I had the chance to say all this on Ekho Mosvky after the publication of the episode with Yashin and Fishman, and I’ll repeat it a few more times, now relating this to myself with a few more details:

For more than ten years, I’ve been a commentator on the actions of Mr. Putin and his criminal administration [raspal’tsovannaia administratsiia]. My commentary has come to focus on the hundreds of royal violations of articles of the Federal Criminal Code, from seizing power and billions of dollars in corruption to the murders of regular people on a massive scale.

The Putin Administration was listening to [these allegations] with enormous cool, and, without denying any of it, they answered with their typical, illegal filth.

Basically, they’ve lived on such illegal filth for the last ten years, from the very beginning of the war with NTV: they broke into my apartment, listened to my telephone, read my correspondence… They’ve dealt in lies — lies disseminated through the press in a wide plan of attack — about my inconceivable earnings, my foreign citizenship, my mercenary activities, my connections to Berezovsky… They’ve “black-PR’d” me, those unknown little journalist-whores and Mr. Minkin [Moskovskii Komsomolets editor], the king of this [journalistic] trade.

As a result of this great ten-years-long special-op, they have at last succeeded in learning something real about me: I fucked Katya.

My congratulations to the warriors of this invisible front — now, I hope, you’re finished slinging mud at the opposition, and can shift your efforts to capturing Doku Umarov.

My advice to you: send Katya to him. For a girl with a reputation like hers, life has already lost all meaning. [Девочке все равно не жить с такой репутацией.]
